Chester Brown and Travis Sinclair were charged in federal court in White Plains on Wednesday, for the carjacking, in which they allegedly attacked the driver and fired shots at him when he attempted to run away.
According to the complaint, on July 27, the two men entered a blue Nissan in Mount Vernon, both armed with guns.
They then threatened and punched the driver. Brown then hit the driver with his gun, which discharged. When the driver attempted to flee, the two fired their guns toward him, injuring a passenger in another car.
Brown was taken into custody on Wednesday, and Sinclair had been in federal custody due to prior pending criminal charges. Both face a maximum term of life in prison and a mandatory term of 10 years in prison.
